AṣọHub is a digital aso-ebi coordination and payment platform for Nigerian weddings, operated by AṣọHub Ltd. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our website and services.

2. Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Account details: name, email address, and password when you register
- Wedding information: event title, date, description, and guest lists uploaded by hosts
- Guest information: name, email, phone number, and family group as provided by hosts or during the commitment process
- Order information: items selected, sizes, quantities, and delivery preferences
- Payment information: processed securely by our payment partners (Paystack for NGN, Stripe for GBP/USD). We never store card numbers or sensitive payment credentials on our servers
- Bank details: account name, number, and bank name provided by hosts for payouts
- Communications: messages sent through the platform chat and any emails you send to us

- IP address and approximate location
- Browser type, operating system, and device information
- Pages visited, actions taken, and time spent on the platform
- Cookies and similar technologies (see Section 9)
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Create and manage your account
- Process orders and payments
- Send order confirmations, payment receipts, and invitation links
- Enable hosts to manage their guest lists and track orders
- Provide customer support
- Detect and prevent fraud
- Improve the platform, fix bugs, and develop new features
- Generate anonymised, aggregated analytics about platform usage
- Send important service updates (we will not send marketing emails unless you opt in)
4. Who We Share Your Information With
We share personal information only as necessary to operate the service:
- Wedding hosts: Guest names, contact information, order details, and payment status are visible to the host of the wedding you placed an order for
- Payment processors: Paystack (for NGN transactions) and Stripe (for GBP/USD transactions) process payments on our behalf and receive the transaction data necessary to complete your payment
- Email service: We use Resend to deliver transactional emails such as order confirmations, receipts, and invitation links
- Cloud infrastructure: Our platform runs on Vercel, with data stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted by Neon in the EU West (London) region
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or valid legal process
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not share your data with advertisers.
5. Guest Lists and Host Responsibilities
Hosts upload guest lists to AṣọHub. By doing so, hosts confirm they have the right to share that information and that their guests are aware their details are being used for aso-ebi coordination.
Hosts are the data controller for the guest information they upload. AṣọHub acts as a data processor, handling this information on the host's behalf for the purpose of operating the aso-ebi coordination service.
6. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on servers located in the EU West (London) region. We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including:
- Encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) across the entire platform
- Hashed passwords using bcrypt, meaning we cannot see your password
- PCI-DSS compliant payment processing through Paystack and Stripe
- Access controls limiting who can view sensitive data
- Regular security reviews of our codebase and infrastructure
No system is 100% secure. If you discover a security vulnerability, please report it to hello@asohub.com and we will investigate promptly.
7. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Order and payment records are kept for a minimum of 6 years for accounting and legal compliance purposes.
If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain certain records. Anonymised, aggregated data that cannot identify you may be retained indefinitely for analytics purposes.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
- Delete your personal data (subject to legal retention requirements)
- Object to processing of your data in certain circumstances
- Port your data by requesting a copy in a machine-readable format
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on your consent

9. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and remember your session preferences. These cookies are necessary for the platform to function and cannot be disabled.
We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies. We may use anonymised analytics cookies in the future to understand how the platform is used. If we do, we will update this policy and provide appropriate notice.
10. International Data Transfers
Our primary database is hosted in the EU West (London) region. However, your data may be processed in other countries where our infrastructure and service providers operate, including the United States (Vercel, Stripe) and Nigeria (Paystack).
Where data is transferred outside the EU, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent protections required by applicable data protection laws.
11. Children
AṣọHub is not intended for anyone under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at hello@asohub.com and we will delete it promptly.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you by email or through the platform. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
Continued use of the platform after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
